You Come from Builder Stock
I'm nothing special.
I come from the family that builds worlds. Making things is in my blood.
The urge to make something — a meal, a song, a fort, an app, a family — is inherited. You create because your Father creates, and every time you build instead of just consume, you feel more like yourself.
Use it when: Feeling useless, bored, stuck in consume-mode, out of ideas.
Backed by: President Uchtdorf, "Happiness, Your Heritage" (2008) — the desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the soul, because we're children of the most creative Being in the universe. Genesis 1:27 — "God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him." The blueprint was set before you did anything at all. Psalm 8:5–6 — crowned "with glory and honour" and given "dominion over the works of thy hands." Building was written into the job description from the start.
What He’d say
You are my child, and I make things — worlds, light, you. The pull you feel to create is inheritance, not accident. Build something today and you'll recognize yourself.
(His words from the passage above, spoken to you.)
