It's Usually Good vs. Good

They're just wrong. Maybe even the bad guy.

We're probably two decent people who want two different good things.

Almost every fight at home, at church, or at work is good versus good: safety vs. adventure, saving vs. celebrating, tradition vs. change. Name the two goods out loud and the villain usually evaporates.

Use it when: Arguments with your spouse, kids, ward members, coworkers.

Backed by: Moroni 7:45 — charity "thinketh no evil," meaning it doesn't assign evil motives where none exist. Most of the time, none exist.

What He’d say

Love thinks no evil — it doesn't invent villains where none exist. Most of your fights are two of my children wanting two different good things. Name both goods out loud, and the enemy disappears.

(His words from the passage above, spoken to you.)
