Scripture Study Is Rehearsing His Voice

Reading scriptures is a box to check before I can call the day spiritual.

Reading scriptures is practicing what His voice sounds like, so I recognize it live.

Nobody recognizes a stranger's voice on the first call. You know a voice because you've heard it before, over and over, until the tone is unmistakable. Every page of scripture is another rep — not homework to finish, but practice hearing exactly how He talks, so that when He speaks to you directly, you already know it's Him.

Use it when: Scripture study feels routine or pointless, rushing through it just to be done, unsure whether a thought or prompting is actually from God.
