Why should I give when I get nothing back?

Give first and quit metering. The returns come by measures you don't control — pressed down, running over.

Generosity is the rare investment where the payout is guaranteed but never itemized. The scorekeeping is what poisons it; drop the ledger and the whole thing works.

Use it when: Feeling used, one-sided friendships, donation fatigue.
